Question presented

A registered sex offender who changes residence from one state to another must register in the new state within three business days of arrival. 34 U.S.C. § 20913(a), (c). Failure to register in the new state in a timely manner is an offense punishable by up to ten years in prison. 18 U.S.C. § 2250(a). The question presented is whether, in a prosecution for this offense, venue lies in the state where the defendant formerly resided.
